An example of the right response

Published on March 30, 2006

Today I have a fairly sad post, but I think its important to talk about what’s happened, and look at the good that’s come out of this.

Putting Tuttle on the Map

Published on March 27, 2006

Never heard of it either? Great, well, here’s an exmaple of how NOT to put your town on the map.
Lets start with a quick background section. Linux is a (mostly) free OS. It’s always free in terms of source code, and your rights to bork it however you see fit. Some distributions do cost money, [...]

Sha-13peare

Well, little histroy lesson today. In high school I was an avid poet, I wrote a ton, though most of it has not seen the light of day, nor will it ever. However, in the past few days I’ve, for some odd reason, fallen back into thinking in Iambic Pentameter (ok, I lie, I prefer/think in quadrameter, but its all good). To that end, I’ve decided to capture the heart of the geek plight, aka lack of, lets say, interest, with what I’m calling “Emo Geek Shakespeare”. Lets begin

Break

Published on March 17, 2006

Well, ’tis Spring Break time ’round here. Most people think three things: alcohol, sun, and girls. I ignored two of the three, and went up north to visit my Grandma. My thinking was: food, sleep, and more food. I only got two of the three… but I digress.

Hacking Your GPA

Published on March 10, 2006

Interesting topic today, hacking your GPA. Now, as I’m using this, it probably won’t bring you from a failing student to an A student, but it might bring up a letter grade, or more.

The basis of this idea, is social engineering, also called Social hacking. This is using the human element of a system to gain entry, or something that benefits you. For instance, posing as a technician for a call center, in order to access call records, or change your phone line.

A Relic from My Past

Published on March 6, 2006

Well, thanks to a conversation with a talented coder, I stumbled across a relic. I hacked it together in 12th grade CS class, between doing people’s homework, and getting months ahead of my own work. Anyways, I lost the course for it last year. I believe I left it in a female’s room during a tech call in Eigy. If anyone sees a backup disc, from November ‘04 PLEASE LET ME KNOW. I will give you $25 for it if it is mine. It has all my java source code, as well as websites I’ve made, and is invaluable to me. Well, I happened to find a version I made for an English project, and decompiled it to fit my needs. The decompiler is horrible. Anyways, the game’s pretty bad as well, it needs a screen 1024 across, and 500 tall. There’s not that many features, once you clear the board… well… start a new game. It was modified for my English class, so if you don’t get something…. be assued it’s an inside joke. Without further ado…. I give you…

The Skinny White Role Playing Game!

20, finally?

Published on March 5, 2006

Those of you who know me, know I just turned 20 years old. Those of you who don’t, well, I just turned 20.
The party I had was a LAN party at my apartment, with the first person arriving 1 pm Friday, and the last leaving ’round 2 am Sunday. We had serious game play from about 6 pm Friday to 6 am Saturday, then again from 12pm Saturday to 1am Sunday. Games we played were:

February Report

Published on March 1, 2006

I decided to check my logs for this past month, and boy was I excited to see them. While I made up a good portion of the traffic (’bout 16% of it!) due to updating, using the website as a drop box, etc, there was about three times as much traffic this month, as last month! You can find the full logs here, and I highly recommend perusal (if you understand ‘em).
